Privacy Policy for Recipe Collector

Effective date: August 15, 2020

This page informs you (the “end-user”) of the policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use the Recipe Collector app (the “Service” or “app”) and the choices you have associated with that data. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

When using the app, Apple may collect data. For information on what information Apple may collect, see https://privacy.apple.com/

What Data App Collects and How it is Used

All data entered by the end-user in the composition of a new food category and new recipes are kept in an on-device database when session state is saved. None of this information is disclosed or transferred to any third party.

Collected recipes may be backed up to the user’s device and/or the end-user’s iCloud account from where it can be restored. The named backup file can be deleted by the end-user and used to reinstate the recipe collection. Only the end-user can give the backup file to someone. It cannot be transferred by the app to another device running the app.

Only the end-user can share a collected recipe, either by printing it, sending it as an e-mail PDF attachment or transfering it by AirDrop.

Any added recipe can be permanently deleted by the end-user.

When the app is deleted, so is the app’s on-device database. A newly download version of the app starts off with an empty database.

The on-device database exists in the app’s Documents folder on the iOS device, which the end-user can delete. However, all saved state will be permanently lost, in particular, added/deleted recipes, personal dish images and app Preferences. See Apple’s documentation on how to access an app’s Documents folder.

No personal end-user data is collected or stored. The app does not require the end-user to enter anything personal, such as login information.

No app usage data is collected. This includes visited recipe websites, recipe links (URLs) and entered search criteria required to find a recipe.

The app does not use cookies to track end-user activity of the service.

The app does not use location services per se.

No end-user input or usage is recorded or stored to improve the app, such as the total number of recipes collected, number of times the app is launched, where recipes are stored or any other app feature.

Permissions

  • When entering a recipe, the app can access protected resources like Photos and the device’s camera, so access permission to these resources is required.
  • The app does use push notifications nor rely on Notifications being turned on.

Privacy Policy Changes

If this privacy policy is changed, it will be noted in the What’s New webpage of the newly released version of the app. End-user’s should periodically review this page for any changes to the privacy policy.
