Effective date: October 1, 2018
This page informs you (the “end-user”) of the policies regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal data when you use the Messaging Notifier app (the “Service” or “app”) and the choices you have associated with that data. By using the app you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
What Data App Collects and How it is Used
All data entered by the end-user in the composition of notify events, recipient groups and notify messages are kept in an on-device database when session state is saved. None of this information is disclosed or transferred to any third party. This means selected contacts, entered phone numbers and message content are kept strictly on the device in the database.
Messages sent are strictly to the recipients specified by the end-user.
Any recipient group, message, and schedule/sent event can be permanently deleted by the end-user.
When the app is deleted, so is the app’s on-device database. A newly download version of the app starts off with an empty database.
The on-device database exists in the app’s Documents folder on the iOS device, which the end-user can delete. However, all saved state will be permanently lost, namely, notify events, recipient groups and notify messages. See Apple’s documentation on how to access an app’s Documents folder.
No personal end-user data is collected. The app does not require the end-user to enter anything personal, such as login information or their phone number.
No app usage data is collected. This includes selected contacts or contact phone numbers entered to form a recipient group and frequency of feature usage.
The app does not use location services per se.
No end-user input or usage is recorded to improve the app.
Permissions
- The end-user must grant access to the protected Contacts and the microphone. Not granting access limits core app features: contact information must be entered manually and a text message must be entered manually.
- The app relies on its Alert Notifications being turned on to inform the end-user when a scheduled event’s send date has occurred. Turning the app’s Alert Notifications off requires the end-user to manually 1) examine event status indicators in the Events list to identify pending and past pending events; 2) examine the app icon’s badge count provided it is not turned off or 3) hear a notification sound played provided it is not turned off.
